About Shantidoot

Since inception, service delivery, awareness generation, survey & research, training, documentation, networking and advocacy have been the main approaches through which the organization is conducting its programmes. Basic development/welfare and inter-related issues affecting society like Health & Hygiene, Education, Literacy & Livelihood Promotion, Women & Child development and environment have remained its major focus of activities.

Organization is a Mother NGO for RCH (Reproductive Child Health) and AYUSH (earlier Indian System of Medicine & Homeopath) schemes of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India in 2001; owing to the expertise developed and experience gained through implementation of health programmes.

Organization is the Parent Body of Jan Shikshan Sansthan, Nalanda. It is a scheme of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India for capacity building of youths for income generation/enhancement.

Community participation in programmes is a major strength of the organization. The organization consciously involves community members in planning, monitoring & evaluation, feedback & review, etc. of its programmes.

With expansion of programmes, the organization set up has also expanded. Under the guidance of its nine members Governing Body (Executive Committee) Shantidoot aspires to emerge as an organization providing grassroots level initiatives through its professional and technical capacity building inputs for sustainable development of the community.

Objectives of the organization

  2. To promote creation of a safe and secure environment for the future generation through attitudinal and behavioral change for sustainable development.
  3. To organize and build the capacity of unprivileged and downtrodden section so as to empower them as a civil society body.
  4. To promote the cause of National integrity and unity with peace, harmony and justice.
