Shantidoot is a secular, non-profit Non-Government Organization (NGO).

Some socially conscious and young volunteers were working for promotion of peace and harmony in the communally sensitive District headquarter town of Nalanda (Bihar), Biharsharif in late 1980s. They named their group Shantidoot (Messengers of Peace).

 

 

Later, the volunteers decided to give the shape of an NGO to the group and work in social development/welfare sector.

 

As an NGO, Shantidoot got registered in 1995, under Societies Registration Act. XXI, 1860; with I.G. Registration, Bihar, Patna.

To facilitate the process of holistic development of society based on equity, justice and sustainability.

 

 

To form an egalitarian society where every individual cynosure of poor, oppressed and under privileged get proper opportunity to utilize their inherent productive potential in shaping a developed society.

Shantidoot is conducting community development/welfare programmes for a long time. A large no. of projects, of varying scales, have been implemented under the guidance and financial support from different Ministries of Govt. of India.
