Apart from running schools for basic/primary education to disadvantaged sections of society, the organization conducts and actively participates in programmes/activities for promoting literacy status.

  • Support in ‘Sakshar Bharat’ programme – National Literacy Mission Authority (NLMA) under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. on 8th September 2009 launched an ambitious programme to impart literacy to over six lakh adult females in low female literacy districts of the country.

The organization actively participates in Sakshar Bharat programmes/activities – selection of trainers, training of trainers, formation of monitoring committees at various levels, support in selection of committee members, awareness & publicity of the programme in rural areas, etc.

  • Literacy Centre for Physically Challenged children – The organization runs bridge education course, especially for physically challenged children, to provide equal opportunity for education.

Centres are run for three months in rural areas where discrimination against such children is more prevalent. Children are identified during survey for distribution of aids & equipments to disabled persons. Trainers especially trained for teaching disabled children are engaged on assignment basis. Children are also provided with free study materials. After completion of basic education/literacy course the organization helps them in getting enrolled in regular schools of their choice.

  • Evaluation of literacy projects – The organization also conducts evaluation of literacy projects/activities. Such evaluation exercises are conducted mainly on request of other (grassroots level) organizations implementing projects.

Such evaluations are normally conducted for non-formal education/literacy centres, literacy camps, adult education centres, etc. The organization has at its disposal experienced personals and professionals to conduct the evaluation.

  • Research Studies on Literacy/Education – The organization also conducts different kinds of studies to help in developing concepts, planning, implementing or modifying education/literacy promoting projects.

The organization conducts studies on its own or on request of other organization. Professionals supported by field level functionaries experienced in education/literacy projects or activities conduct such studies. The organization has conducted studies on school dropout cases in Muslim weavers’ families, impact study of non-formal education centres, study on literacy awareness programme in SC community, etc.
